About Shuja
Shuja Hoda is a highly experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with over 25 years of expertise in the field of mental health. He is BABCP-accredited and has worked extensively across the National Health Service (NHS), supporting adults with a range of mental health challenges, from mild and moderate conditions to severe psychotic disorders.
His career spans both secondary care and community mental health settings, where he has played a pivotal role in psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and mental health service development.
In addition to working at London Trusted Therapy Harley Street, Shuja serves as a Psychotherapist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosciences, specialising in Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) within an inpatient multidisciplinary team (MDT) setting. His role involves delivering evidence-based interventions to patients with complex mental health conditions.
His previous roles include working as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Interpersonal Therapist (IPT) at Central and North West London NHS Trust (Harrow IAPT) and West London Mental Health NHS Trust (Ealing IAPT). In these positions, he was responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other psychological conditions. He also led therapy groups focused on self-esteem, stress management, mindfulness, and anger management, in
addition to providing clinical supervision to trainee therapists and Psychological Wellbeing
Practitioners (PWPs).
Shuja’s clinical expertise extends to specialised areas such as Behavioural Couples Therapy,
Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. He is currently pursuing a
qualification in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, further enhancing
his therapeutic skill set.
In addition to his extensive clinical experience, Shuja is a strong advocate for mental health
awareness and accessibility. He has been recognised for his contributions to improving psychological
therapies for ethnic minority communities and was awarded Best Project for Patient & Public
Involvement (PPI) by The Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research & Care (CLAHRC)
in 2011.
Academically, he holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Lucknow University, India, and
has completed multiple postgraduate qualifications in CBT, IPT, Clinical Hypnosis, and Supervision for
High-Intensity Therapists. His educational background, coupled with his multilingual proficiency in
English, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, and Punjabi, allows him to provide culturally competent therapy to
diverse populations.
